How is North West Hospice Charity Governed?
North West Hospice Charity is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. As such we are externally audited each year and comply with company legislation and all applicable legislation.
We apply best practice for charities, are registered with the Charities Regulatory Authority and are signed up to the Irish Charities Tax Reform Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.
North West Hospice Charity is governed by a Board of Directors. Our Board is responsible for the governance of the Charity and works closely with the clinical management team of North West Hospice.
All our Directors are volunteer members who generously contribute their experience, knowledge, and resources to ensure that North West Hospice Charity is effectively run.
The business of the Board is supported by the following sub-committees:

- Human Resource Committee
- Board Representation on Capital Committee

We are governed by a Board of voluntary non-executive Directors.
None of our Directors receive payment of any kind for their service to North West Hospice.
We value their expertise and guidance.
Our Board meets a number of times a year and is advised by its own permanent sub-committees
which are made up of Board members, North West Hospice and HSE executives and, on occasion, external members.
