Explorations: The National Palliative Care Conference
takes place in Sligo this October

North West Hospice is pleased to announce that it will host Explorations: The National Palliative Care Conference, on October 8th, 2026, at the Sligo Park Hotel in Sligo.

 This year’s theme, “Continuity in Compassion: Palliative Care in All Settings,” will explore how seamless, person-centred palliative care can be delivered across hospital, hospice, community, nursing home, and home settings.

This conference is open to all healthcare professionals of all disciplines. It will give attendees an opportunity to learn from experts in their field, network and share their thoughts and insights with each other.

We encourage your service to submit a poster abstract.

We invite delegates to submit poster abstracts showcasing innovation, research, quality improvement, or examples of best practice in palliative care. Two outstanding poster abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. The closing date for abstract submissions is 7th September 2026. Please note that if your poster abstract is accepted, you must register for the conference and print your own poster for display the event
