Job Description:
North West Hospice Charity is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Finance & Projects Analyst. This unique role combines financial administration with project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of financial resources while also overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Administration:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, bank reconciliations, grant recording, invoicing, and expense tracking.
- Strong understanding of accountancy principles and practices and ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits to assess financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Be competent in preparing accounts for audit in a timely manner and assist in preparation for and presentation to the board.
Projects Analyst:
- Lead the planning and execution of projects in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues or obstacles that may arise.
- Communicate project goals, timelines, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate new projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years in a financial administration or similar role.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal).and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software.
Standards of Leadership Required.
- The individual will be passionate, energetic, and enthusiastic about delivering results while demonstrating a high attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills are essential, they should be highly organised, flexible, are able to work and prioritise under pressure.
- Experience of demonstrating and succeeding with an entrepreneurial “can do” mindset, the successful person needs to demonstrate that they are highly motivated, pro-active and are results orientated.
